Georgina’s Restaurant is Turning 34!

This picture was taken at the airport in 1990 when my wife and I were coming from Greece.

We were young, starting our lives and we didn’t know exactly what the future would bring. We didn’t have much with us, just two suitcases, a dream and each other. We had the suitcases, we just didn’t know the dream. If I had to write a book about it, it would be titled “Two Suitcases and A Dream.”

Two years later, in October of 1992, the dream became Georgina’s Restaurant, named after our first born daughter.

When we first opened our doors, we couldn’t have imagined what Georgina’s would have become. We thought we were just opening a restaurant, but what we were really beginning was a journey that would bring thousands of wonderful people into our lives.

Over the years, we have watched families grow. We have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, baptisms, graduations, holidays, and so many of life’s special moments together. Some of the children who once walked through our doors with their parents, now come back with children of their own.

Our employees became part of our family, our customers become our friends, and this community has become our home.

There were many longs days, difficult years, sacrifices, and plenty of times when things were not easy. But through it all, we had each other, our family, our employees, and the support of a community that continued to believe in us, and continues to believe in us to this day.

Looking at this old picture, today brings us back to where everything started. Two young people sitting together at an airport having no idea where life was going to take them.

We had two suitcases, we just didn’t know how big the dreams would become.

From the bottom of our hearts; thank you to our family, our employees—past and present— and every customer who has walked through our doors and allowed Georgina’s to become apart of your life.

After 34 years, Georgina’s has become much more than just a restaurant to us.

It is our family. It is our community. It is our American Dream.

Cheers to 34 years of living what was once just a dream.

With love and gratitude,

George and Soula
